Acne
This extremely common condition still impacts terribly on adolescents in particular, although some adults into their 40's are also not spared. It is surprising that a lot of acne cases in the community remain poorly-treated in spite of the plethora of treatment options currently available.
Acne has the largest impact on the community psychologically, being responsible for a lot of anxiety, depression and loss of self esteem.
All acne has to have at least one these causative factors:
- Excess sebum production (mainly hormonal)
- Abnormal skin cell development
- Bacterial colony growth
- Inflammation
There are many varieties of acne. It is important to have it appraised by an experienced physician in order to adopt the appropriate treatment regime. At Cutanius, we are happy to either commence intial treatment or to provide adjunct treatment while the client is under topical or oral medications from their dermatologist.
