THERMAGE Non-Surgical Tissue Tightening
In 2006 our Medical Director, Dr Glenn Liew, was the very first specialist to pioneer the Thermage RF technology in Perth. He has trained in Melbourne and Hong Kong, and is now one of the most experienced and highly acclaimed Thermage specialists in the Australia and Asia-Pacific Region.
Since its introduction worldwide in 2002 Thermage has remained the industry benchmark in the category of non-surgical skin tightening. The main applications are facial or neck skin laxity, early jowling, eyelid hooding and body areas such as tummies, arms and thighs.
Used in over 60 countries, Thermage has had an excellent safety track record with only minor side-effects reported since its introduction. Results may continue to improve up to 6 months after treatment, and last for up to 2 years on average.
Thermage works by using a unique patented intelligent Thermatip™ to deliver monopolar radiofrequency (RF) waves deep into the dermal and sub-dermal layers of the skin, while keeping the upper (epidermal) layer cool simultaneously. On a histological level, what this means is that sufficient volumetric heating can be delivered deep into skin tissue which alters the collagen structure while the superficial layers are protected from damage.
This unique design allows Thermage to be used :
1. for all coloured skin types (unlike lasers and IPL)
2. as a single treatment basis procedure (other machines require 4 to 6 treatments for equivalent tightening)
3. as a safe treatment with no effective downtime required
4. both for visible tissue tightening as well as deep collagen rejuvenation
